Affirmation of Welcome

Hollywood Lutheran Church has been "Reconciling in Christ" (RIC) as of the Day of Pentecost, 1999. As an RIC congregation, we acknowledge that all people have been made in the image of God.

As a community of the people of God, we are called to minister to all. In a world of alienation and brokenness, Christ calls us to reconciliation and wholeness. We are challenged by the Gospel to be agents of healing within our society. We affirm with the apostle Paul that in Christ "there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither male nor female" (Galatians 3:28).  Christ has made us one.

We acknowledge that certain groups of people are often scorned by

society and alienated from the Church.

Therefore, we seek to welcome all people regardless of sexuality, gender identity, family status, race, ethnicity, country of origin, economic status, or any other arbitrary human division.

As followers of Jesus, the people of Hollywood Lutheran church are dedicated to being a community of Christ, sharing God's love and hope with joy and compassion.

We are black, brown, white, yellow, women, men, heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, single, married, divorced, widowed, rich, poor, disabled, homebound, unemployed, working people.

We are beloved children of God!
